Article summary

Egyptian Geese chicks on a pond in a park in Brussels had no means of access to the lawn and depended on bread thrown to them by passers-by. Three weeks after hatching, they had hardly grown whereas the young of family on another pond in the park, with access to the lawn, had tripled in size during the same period. The young of the first family caught up in two weeks, as soon as they were fed grass.
