Article summary

This report deals with bird records assessed by the French-speaking Belgian rarities committee, the CH, for the year 2004, concerning species that are subject to acceptance by the Belgian rarities committee regionally only (these species have to be documented only when observed outside the Flemish Region). Some older records are also included. Noteworthy records published here include an exceptional passage of Dotterels (Eudromias morinellus) in late August - early September 2004. Because of the frequency and regularity of their occurrence in the regions, two species are taken off the list of species considered by the rarities committee from 1 January 2006 : the Dotterel, and the Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans).
