Article summary

Since 2008 Tõnn, a Greater Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga, has been followed by a Estonian satellite-tracking project. Its destination for over-wintering is, rather surprisingly for this species, near Alicante in the south-east of Spain. During its 2010 autumn migration the eagle came across Wallonia, without being reported by anyone. It passed the night of 8 to 9 October at Engis, near Liège. There are eleven ratified records of the Greater Spotted Eagle from Belgium, including three in Wallonia.
