A pair of White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) has nested in the wild at Hachy (Lorraine, extreme South of Belgium) in 1972.
This is the first belgian record since the end of the last century. Two youngs were successfully bred. They leaved Hachy for migration on the first of September. In this paper, the author has reviewed different detailed data about breeding, namely historical and biogeographical circumstances, ethological and synecological reactions of the birds.
