Temporal distribution of Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) observations in mid-Belgium and the Ardennes.
Lemy, C. & Guerriat, H.
Seventeen thousand, one hundred and fifteen observations carried out during the years 1966 to 1973, 1975 and 1977, arranged in decades, revealed migration peaks occuring principally from September to mid-November and from mid-January to mid-May. A fairly large number of sedentaries and winter migrators was present from the end of November to mid-January. From mid-May to mid-June, the observations probably cover immatures and erratic adults, the increase from mid-June to the end of August corresponding to the dispersion of youngs.
