Proposals for a count of the black Grouse (Tetra tetrix) in the Walloon country.
Schmitz, L. & Renard, F.
These last few years have seen the extinction of small local populations of Black Grouse in the Walloon country; the species no longer subsists today on the Hautes-Fagnes plateau. Two annual counts carried out at non critical periods (mid-April, mid-November) would enable the evolution of this last nucleus to be followed. Some remarks are made on the danger of the growing tourist pressure, one of the most serious menaces hanging over the Black Grouse.
