Article summary

A male Dartford Warbler was sighted on April 1988 at Heyd (Durby) in the north of the Province of Luxemburg. This was the first authenticated sighting in Belgium. After a description of the bird in question, the European status of the species is briefly recalled. Considering the bird's characheristics and the weather conditions prevailing in Europe in the previous days, it would appear that the bird was of european origin.
