Article summary

All the data on the occurrence of Penduline Tit in Wallonia, since its appearance in 1966 until 1997, are analysed. Up to 1983, the species was irregular and seen only during the fall. In 1984, spring occurrence started while numbers increased from 1987, when a first breeding attempt took place. The first two breeding successes were recorded in 1993. Now Penduline Tits breed annually (1-3 pairs) in the Meuse valley between Liège and Maastricht. In 1995, one successful breeding was followed up and allowed original observations to be made.
