Article summary

Millions Woodpigeons were counted on 3 neighbouring sites in the French Pyrenees, Organbidexka, Lindux and Lizarrieta, from 1981, 1987 and 1988, respectively. Pigeons are heavily hunted in this area. Surprisingly, trends are divergent : decrease on Organbidexka, increase on Lindux and no tendency on Lizarrieta. Southerly winds becoming more frequent and more disturbating shootings at Organbidexka could be two explanations for a probable westward drift of the flow of migrants. Moreover, it seems that Woodpigeons cross the Lindux Pass more fluently in the recent years.
